Anurag Kashyap Movies List

Anurag Kashyap is a well-known Hindi film director and actor from India. After creating the television series Kabhie Kabhie (1997), Kashyap collaborated on the crime drama Satya directed by Ram Gopal Varma (1998). Later, he wrote and directed a short television film called Last Train to Mahakali (1999). With the as-yet-unreleased movie Paanch, he made his feature film debut. The following year, he directed Black Friday, a movie about the Bombay bombings of 1993. After being delayed for two years by India’s Censor Board, it was finally released in 2007 with favourable reviews. He was the director of No Smoking, a critically and commercially unsuccessful film. Next up for Kashyap was the animated movie Return of Hanuman (2007). Along with the political drama Gulaal, he was the director of Dev.D, a contemporary adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Bengali novel Devdas. Even though the movie received positive reviews, its box office performance was poor.

Here’s a list of all the Anurag Kashyap films you should watch.

Anurag Kashyap Films, Kashyap’s production company, debuted with the movie Udaan (2010). Thanks to this critical success, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Story and Screenplay. Then he directed one of the short films in Mumbai Cutting, an anthology movie. Following the suspenseful That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011), he directed the two-part crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue. He directed a short film in 2013 called That Day After every day about eve teasing. He oversaw one of the anthology movie Bombay Talkies’ segments (2013). In 2013, he co-produced the biographical drama Shahid and the film The Lunchbox, which was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language.

The period drama Lootera served as the first film produced by Kashyap’s new production company, Phantom Films, which he founded in 2011. (2013). The comedy-drama Queen (2014), co-produced and co-edited by Kashyap, won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and the Filmfare Award for Best Editing.

His subsequent films include the thriller Ugly (2014) and the historical drama Bombay Velvet (2015). The latter received mixed reviews when it debuted and didn’t make back its 1.2 billion yen ($15 million) investment. He co-produced the critically acclaimed Masaan and the commercially successful Hunterrr, NH10, in 2015. After that, Kashyap co-directed the crime thriller Sacred Games and India’s first Netflix Original series, Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). Both were based on the serial killer Raman Raghav.
